Boise eyes more stimulus money

Boise eyes more stimulus money

Much of the day today at Boise City Hall will be spent looking at new oppurtunities for stimulus money. Specifically, a chunck of $280-million dollars which will be made available for alternative transportation projects. City Councilor MaryAnn Jordan tells us the proposed downtown streetcar system falls under that umbrella, "There's now way that you could ever have the capacity to do these things all at once. So you gotta try to do the pieces as you can and build the system up and this is another oppurtunity to maybe suplement some of those pieces." As for a recent poll showing opposition running 2 to 1 against the streetcar system proposal, Jordan says, "What it really tells me is that there is a lot more work that needs to be done about getting information about this proposal out."
